Crafting the Redcliffe Labs Corporate Film
Filmmaking in the corporate world demands a seamless blend of creativity, precision, and teamwork. Each project is a unique adventure, and the Redcliffe Labs film was no exception. Despite the challenges and triumphs, we crafted a visual story we are proud to share. Read our blog for a detailed insight into how a corporate brand film is brought to life.
Pre-Production: Setting the Stage
Every great film begins with a deep understanding of the story we want to tell. For our corporate film for Redcliffe Labs, we embarked on a journey to align their brand voice with a compelling visual narrative.
To capture the essence of Redcliffe Labs, we engaged in insightful conversations with key figures: the Co-Founder, the Chairman of the Medical Committee, the Director of Lab Operations, and the Director of Reproductive Medicine and Genetics, along with the Marketing team. These discussions provided a rich tapestry of insights into their operations, vision, and values.
With these insights, my scriptwriter Monika and I entered a creative brainstorming session. We meticulously crafted a script that not only conveyed the brand’s story but also resonated with its audience. We focused on refining the tone, narrative structure, and visual flow to ensure a seamless and engaging viewer experience.
Production: Bringing the Vision to Life
Originally, we planned for a three-day shoot to capture the extensive visuals we envisioned. However, budget constraints necessitated condensing our schedule to two days. We devised a strategic plan to optimize every hour on set.
To maximize efficiency, we divided our efforts into two simultaneous units. One unit focused on capturing the narrative-driven “talking head” segments, while the other unit filmed the dynamic shots of the office and satellite facility. This dual-unit approach allowed us to gather comprehensive footage within the limited time frame.
Our crew of about 20 dedicated professionals worked tirelessly, often exceeding the standard 12-hour shooting days. Their commitment was instrumental, and it was crucial to keep the energy high and spirits lifted. As a self-professed foodie, I ensured our crew enjoyed not just adequate, but delicious meals throughout the shoot. Good food is essential for keeping a team motivated and performing at their best.
Thanks to the combined efforts and cooperation from Redcliffe Labs’ staff, we captured 100% of the shots as planned. With filming wrapped up successfully, we moved on to the next phase—post-production.
Post-Production: The Finishing Touches
Post-production is where the magic truly happens, and it is often the most challenging part of the filmmaking process. This phase involved a series of meticulous steps: selecting the best shots, creating a smooth flow of interview bytes, integrating the B-rolls, and refining the narrative structure.
We also added layers of creativity through music, transitions, and visual enhancements. The color correction and grading brought a polished look to the film, while audio mastering ensured that the sound was crisp and clear.
Editing took about 10 days, a period filled with intense focus and late nights. During this time, we also recorded the voiceover and produced custom music to complement the film. Despite the mental fatigue, the process was incredibly rewarding. Presenting the first cut to the client and receiving their positive feedback with only minor adjustments was a testament to our team’s hard work and dedication.

"Bollywood Through the Decades: Recreating the Iconic 1980s"
Concept:
The objective of this photoshoot was to pay homage to the most iconic era of Bollywood, the 1980s, renowned for its international impact, fusion of cultures, and bold portrayal of female characters. By recreating the unforgettable roles of Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi, specifically Laila (from "Laila o Laila" song) and Nisha (from "Jawani Jaaneman" song), our aim was to capture the essence of a period that continues to influence fashion trends to this day.
Studio:
We selected Gorillas Studios' "Indian set" as the backdrop because it impeccably captures the essence of the 1980s Bollywood aesthetic, perfectly aligning with the look and feel of the concept.
Wardrobe:
Gold and silver took center stage in clothing and accessories, reflecting the opulent and glamorous fashion trends prevalent in the 1980s. The wardrobe was carefully curated to authentically replicate the iconic looks of the characters, effectively embodying the spirit of their performances.
Mood and Style:
The mood seamlessly fuses retro nostalgia with contemporary creativity. The style harmoniously blends the boldness and vibrancy of the 1980s with a modern twist, showcasing its enduring impact on today's GenZ.
Technical:
The lighting faithfully recreates the dramatic and dynamic illumination characteristic of 1980s Bollywood films, effectively enhancing the overall retro ambiance. The application of warm tonality and post-processing techniques is utilized to evoke the cinematic quality emblematic of the era's cinematography.
