As a photographer, one of the most intriguing and challenging assignments can be capturing the essence of a corporate leader through a profile shoot.

Recently, we had the privilege of photographing Mr. Sahil Vachani, the esteemed Managing Director of MEL & MaxVIL, a part of The Max Group.

In this blog post, we would like to share our experience and shed light on the key aspects that made this corporate profile shoot a success.

1.     Pre-Production: The Power of Planning In the realm of photography, we firmly believe that 99% of the shoot's success lies in meticulous planning, leaving only 1% to execution. To ensure we met Mr. Sahil Vachani's expectations, we began by immersing ourselves in his background and understanding his vision for the shoot. Through this process, we were able to develop a final concept that was detailed and aligned with his objectives. To visually communicate our ideas, we created a mood board, setting the stage for the shoot and establishing a shared vision.

2.     Optimal Time Management Recognizing the importance of time, we carefully planned a 2-hour slot for the shoot with Mr. Sahil Vachani. Prior to his arrival, we meticulously aligned and tested the setups, ensuring they were ready to be captured promptly. This approach not only facilitated an efficient use of our time but also showcased our professionalism and commitment to delivering a seamless experience for our clients.

3.     The Art of Communication In any photography session, establishing a comfortable and open line of communication with the subject is crucial. We made it a priority to engage in meaningful conversations with Mr. Sahil Vachani, allowing him to feel at ease in front of the camera. As photographers, we understand the significance of effective communication, both textually and verbally, to create an environment that fosters authentic and captivating portraits.

4.     One Setup, One Shot at a Time To maintain focus and ensure optimal results, we adopted a deliberate approach of capturing one setup and one shot at a time. This allowed us to give each frame the attention it deserved, capturing the essence of Mr. Sahil Vachani's professional persona while highlighting his unique qualities and achievements. The deliberate pace enabled us to create a series of compelling images that truly reflected his corporate excellence.

5.     Surpassing Expectations Our preparation, attention to detail, and efficient execution resulted in a shoot that concluded earlier than anticipated. This not only reflected our commitment to professionalism but also exceeded the expectations of our client, Mr. Sahil Vachani. The collaboration and rapport established during the shoot enabled us to capture his best self, resulting in a set of images that truly represented his leadership and vision.

6. Post-Production: Enhancing Reality While pre-production and execution are vital, we must not overlook the significance of post-production. As part of our planning process, we seamlessly integrated post-production into our workflow, ensuring a smooth and expedited process. Our philosophy revolves around maintaining authenticity, and thus, we limit our post-production to basic color correction and touch-ups, allowing the visuals to retain their genuine and unadulterated essence.

Conclusion: Capturing the essence of a corporate leader through a profile shoot requires a harmonious blend of meticulous planning, effective communication, and technical expertise. Our experience with Mr. Sahil Vachani, the Managing Director of Max Ventures & Industries Limited, highlighted the importance of pre-production planning, optimal time management, and the art of communication. By adopting a deliberate and focused approach, we were able to surpass expectations and deliver a series of images that showcased Mr. Sahil Vachani's corporate excellence. Shoots in pandemic

Peace Out!

Peace. Something we all need during this pandemic, right? This very peace seems to fade out as soon as we move out of the house, for grocery shopping, for work or even for a short car ride. Peace never comes easy, but it does come at an affordable price. How? By taking precautions. In this series, we’ll be talking about some of the steps one can take to conduct a safe, smooth and peaceful shoot. So to all the photographers, videographers, cinematographers, models and makeup artists, get ready to take some notes.

1. Your car can contract those germs too! So don’t leave without your gloves and mask on.

2. Stack backseat with the required equipment and your life savior, sanitizer and you’re all set to go! Note- Sanitize your equipment before leaving for the location of the shoot.

No, I’m not endorsing my kicks but I’m definitely endorsing our knight in shining armor, sanitizer/disinfectant.

1. As soon as you reach the #studio or the location of the #shoot, spray some #sanitizer on your gloves and on the back of the sole of your shoes, and most importantly wear something covered as footwear!

2. Now that you’re all sanitized, take the equipment out of the vehicle you’re carrying it in and go ahead to click some sanitising-ly beautiful shots!

We’re not the only ones at risk, but by not taking any precautions we’re putting the people around us at a higher risk. So it’s your prerogative as a makeup artist to-

1. Use gloves throughout the makeup. Maintain distance from the model, as much as you can.

2. #disinfect your products before and after the makeup is done.

Photographers, take note!

I know you can’t maintain a social distance from your camera, but what you can do is conduct the shoot responsibly, putting no one in harm’s way!

Before the day of the shoot, mentally visualize the itinerary or the sequence of the whole day- how you need to guide your assistant, cover the model and make sure that everything goes smoothly and in a safe manner. Try to maintain distance, as much as you can and have least of the crew at the shooting floor.

What’s the one thing lurking in every nook and corner of the studio?

Yes, you guessed it right! It’s our beloved sanitizer bottles.
Keep one near yourself, so that the virus can go to hell. :)

We don’t call it a wrap until each equipment, from makeup, to lights and camera, are #disinfected and #sanitized to the extent possible. And voila, we’ve successfully conducted a sanitized photoshoot! Isn’t that just amazing?Well, we’ve always believed in the phrase that- ‘modern problems require modern solutions’ so it is what it is. 🤷🏻
